THE CAMM® MATERIAL

CAMM® is a breakthrough pellet material that delivers the strength and versatility of plastic - without the environmental harm

Made from biodegradable, non-toxic ingredients, CAMM® fulfills its function and then safely decomposes naturally, much like organic matter returning to the earth, without leaving harmful traces. As coating on paper, CAMM® also is a game changer in creating microplastic free paper recycling streams.

THE SCIENCE OF DISINTEGRATION

CAMM IN NATURE’S CIRCULAR LOOP

CAMM® has an unmatched ability to dissolve in water or soil. The reason is a special chemical make-up that allows carbon chains of the polymer to delink easily at pre-defined temperatures or water exposure. When the carbon chains are delinked, no microplastics can occur. This is unique compared to conventional plastics or other biopolymers. The material mimicks nature's own decomposition process. Depending on the formulation and application, CAMM® dissolves in minutes to months. It looks like magic, but it's really science!

CAMM® EXPOSED TO WATER

CAMM® dissolves in water without microplastics. Depending
on the application and product lifecycle, CAMM® products can be designed to either dissolve in hot or cold water. Dissolution times span from minutes to months, depending on the end-consumer use case.

CAMM® EXPOSED TO SOIL

CAMM® composts within weeks. without leaving persistent chemicals or toxins behind. What remains is safely consumed by natural microorganisms in soil or water. It is certified for home and industrial composting.

A CHAMPION FOR RECYCLING

- CAMM IN TECHNICAL RECYCLING CYCLE, MEETING PPWR STANDARDS

CAMM® is recyclable like traditional plastics. As we expand we are preparing for integration into national recycling systems together with partners in our ecosystem.

Already today, CAMM® functions as game changer in the paper recycling stream. Paper recycling is the world’s most widely used recycling process. End-consumers have developed a clear habit in many countries to seperate and recycle paper. The challenge: paper is often full of microplastics. And this is where CAMM® makes a difference.

With the material’s strength and properties, CAMM® laminated or coated onto paper creates a new class of strong, microplastic-free paper packaging. As 95/5 applications or as thicker laminate within the norms of the EU, the packaging is recycled in the paper stream. CAMM® washes away and paper fibers are fully recovered. The recovered pulp is uncontaminated of microplastics. With CAMM®, impact and and conformity with the EU’s PPWR go hand in hand.

INDUSTRIALIZED PRODUCTS

FROM PELLETS TO FINISHED PACKAGING ON STANDARD INDUSTRIAL LINES

Launching products into the market that can be processed on industrial machinery is the hardest piece of work. This can take months to years. At Camm together with our partners, we've taken our breakthrough idea and made it work at industrial scale. We have a dedicated team that creates the interphase between trials and tweaking formulations to perfection, until they match standard machinery.

We have developed a suite of products – CAMM® air pillows, CAMM® film applications, CAMM® polybags and CAMM® rigids – pivoting to replace significant quantities of plastic. Every year, we will add further categories to the list.

Base materials are produced in our Spanish facility. Conversion takes place through a global network of partners in Europe and the US.
